However, if the compound works by increasing endogenous
glutathione, it could possibly benefit a variety of
disorders including hypertension, diabetes, fibromyalgia, or
any condition related to stress.
The qualifier here is that
in the past a number of large clinical trials using
exogenous antioxidants (Vitamin C, VitaminE) to treat a
variety of disorders have been completed, and the bottom
line is that no benefit was observed.
Whether or not
supplementation of an endogenous antioxidant (glutathione)
would have a different effect has not been tested.
Theoretically it could work.

Is Glutathione FDA
approved?
No compounded
product is FDA approved in the narrow sense of the
definition, but Glutathione is in the GRAS (generally
regarded as safe) category.
How long can a
person take Glutathione and how long will the effect last
after I stop using it?
It can be taken
permanently. In the 1996 Italian study the therapeutic
effect lasted 2-4 months after therapy was stopped.
How long has
Glutathione been used?
